CVMS faculty travel as delegates to national Montessori conference
February 15, 2017
Three Cedar Valley Montessori School (CVMS) faculty members will travel as delegates to the American Montessori Society national conference, “Montessori Beyond Borders,” March 9-12 in San Diego, Calif.
Faculty members Sophie Friedman, Hala Azmeh and Candace Reed will explore and participate in discussions on a wide range of topics, including Montessori’s new pedagogical and methodological alliances, growing conversations about how the Montessori method bridges public and private schools, and steps for how an invigorated global Montessori community upholds Maria Montessori’s mission of peace in challenging times. The conference keynote speaker, Nicholas D. Kristof, a best-selling author and a columnist for the New York Times, will speak on the topic of “Why Your Students Should Care About the World—And Change It.”
“We are excited that our faculty are delegates to this national conference and look forward to the new ideas and renewed energy and passion surrounding the Montessori method that they will bring back to our downtown school,” says Stacy Cataldo, Head of School at CVMS.
